Mumbai's plight

It seems this SMS is doing the rounds currently in Mumbai:

"Thank you BMC, Thank U CM,
So what if you did not convert Mumbai into Shanghai.
U did one step better by converting Mumbai into Venice"

I wasnt in Mumbai when the calamity occured, my basis are 2nd hand stories and online media. but i believe it's tad unfair to put all the blame on govt....one cant expect the govt to overnight recruit more personnel, or to have evacuation routes and relief distribution strategies chalked out in a city that has always been devoid of proper planning, overpopulated....

The lack of adequate machinery is govt's fault agreed, but it cant be just these few politicians who are being targeted... rather the citizens shud be coming forward and working in tandem to save as many lives right now, get the city on its feet once again, n later do all the finger-pointing or fault finding...

I agree with Mustang. There are many things the government can do now. But really it was a natural disaster that struck Mumbai.Balming it on the Government and especially the Shanghai dig is a tad unfair.
